Bibigo

Overview

I am working on this project in collaboration with Indigo Illusions to create a series of short videos for Bibigo's social media. Bibigo need 3D recreations of their products superimposed onto footage.

Breakdown

I start by camera tracking the footage in After Effects, then exporting the data to Maya using After Effects Live Link. I build the majority of the scene in Maya, including geometry, lighting, shadow catchers, and animation. I'll then render the scene using Redshift. For VFX elements, I export the collision geometry and camera animation over to houdini. I simulate the steam using a pyro solver, and render that seperately in Houdini using Redshift. I'll composite the seperate elements on top of the footage back in After Effects, animate masks over the render for anything in the foreground, and colour grade/polish up the composition until it's ready for export.
